From Amelia Island to Avondale: Cathie Clark’s Story

Some people spend their entire lives searching for their calling. Cathie Clark, ASID, realized her's at age twelve. Even as a child, she understood how a space can affect one's mood. Her love of interior design and order even carried over to her schoolwork, including a science fair project on a model for a hygienic daycare center.

Cathie's passion for design never waned, eventually leading her to Florida State University's Department of Interior Architecture and Design, one of the top interior design programs in the country. After graduating with a bachelor of science degree in interior design and working for a prestigious design firm in South Florida, she started her own business in Jacksonville - and more than 30 years later, she's just as passionate about creating beautiful, functional spaces as she ever was.

From Amelia Island to Avondale, these communities on the water have been part of Cathie’s story for the last 10+ years. Not only do these historic areas provide her with scores of inspiration and fun conversations, these are the places that she is proud to call home.

“making the day-to-day easier”

Throughout her career, Cathie has been driven to create spaces that are not only aesthetic but also practical: "As much as we desire to be surrounded by beauty, we also need smart space planning to make the flow of our day-to-day lives easier." She strikes this delicate balance with her extensive knowledge of space planning and design, as well as her innate ability to connect with clients and help them visualize their ideal home. And then she makes it a reality.

“more time for your moments”

Cathie lives in Jacksonville, Florida in the historic neighborhood of Avondale - with her studio and showroom just a few blocks away - and has a beach house on Amelia Island. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, dancing at weddings, traveling with her husband and walking on the shores of Amelia with her German Shorthaired Pointer named Finn.
